The verve of Sunday’s return leg was tempered by lower, but adequate winds blowing directly on the nose for returning teams.  Team Tybee, the first team to return to Pineda, sailed more than 4 hr, longer than even the slowest team’s trip down the previous day. Although Chuck Harndon and Paul Allum were not the final boat to finish, they were far behind the other Blades.  Their jib sail blew out and they forgot to pack a spare. . .  Because they blew out their jib,  they earned a belated but coveted place among the elite who blew out spinnakers on Saturday.  The latest return, Jim McEwan, on a Hobie 16, was on the water for over 7 hr. Jim was beat, but clearly enjoyed the day on the water.  He also enjoyed a beer as soon as he hit the beach in Pineda.  Everyone else enjoyed dinner, which was waiting for Jim to make shore before serving began.
