Teams that compete in the Alter Cup include those that win regional competitions. Florida is in Area D South. Area D qualifiers are on this site. Ollie & Kelly Jason represented Florida in the 2007 Alter Cup Regatta. The previous year’s winner and the Olympic catamaran sailing team are also automatically included. Hobie Cat and Performance Catamaran racing organizations both nominate 2 teams. The nation’s top youth teams are also eligible. This year, Sarah Newberry, was the youth skipper. Her uncle, Jamie Livingston crewed for her. The final slots are filled by petition to give a total of 20 teams.
