Special Acknowledgment

The Blade catamaran, selected by US Sailing for the Alter Cup competition, is built under license in the US by Vector Works. That company is located in Titusville, about 20 miles from where the Alter Cup races occurred. The boat’s builders, Matt and Gina McDonald were selected to race in this regatta. This is, to my knowledge, a first for the Alter Cup. In addition to racing, Matt worked like crazy to have the 10 blades ready to go for the regatta and acted as consultant for the race committee during the races. If you ever wondered how to burn up a year’s worth of adrenaline in just 5 days.
