There was a Hobie 14 turbo class, formed mostly by
the usual sailors from Gulfport. They either race these or Waves at this
regatta. This was the Hobie 14 year . . .Cheryl Johnson tied her husband,
Bob for 1st place with 2 firsts and a second. The tie breaker formula gave
the 1st place to Cheryl this year. Bill Brooks, also a regular at this
regatta, came in 3rd in this class.
The Portsmouth high fleet had 4 entrants. Jerry and Conner Wolfe finished
first on corrected score sailing a Prindle 18. Bob Henderson, on a Hobie 17,
finished 2nd. Rick Uschold & Randy Berman (Prindle 18.0) and Walter & Cindi
Adams (Hobie 18 magnum) were in 3rd and 4th place, respectively.
